Sunday School
The mission of the Flemington UMC Sunday School is to partner with parents and families in building a spiritual foundation for children to know, love, serve God and to share Christ.
Purposes:
- Introduce children to the Gospel and the Bible (Evangelism)
- Minister to their needs - spiritual, emotional, social & physical (Ministry)
- Pray for them, that they will accept Christ as their Savior (worship)
- Connect them with other Christians and (Fellowship)
- Train them for a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ and impact the world (Discipleship)
Vision:
- Bible Study - Quality Bible studies are being led by teachers who come to class thoroughly prepared and are themselves growing spiritually.
- Outreach - Outreach is given a high priority. Members are reaching out to friends, relatives, neighbors to witness to them and to bring them to Sunday School and worship.
- Inreach - Teachers and members are faithfully getting in touch with absentees to let them know they were missed and to encourage their attendance.
- Fellowship/Prayer - Regular fellowship opportunities are being provided to help build relationships. Class prayer meetings are being conducted to pray for the needs of members and for the salvation of friends, relatives, and neighbors.
- Ministry - Classes are involved in ministry and outreach projects. These are organized actions to support local, national, and foreign mission. The objective of such projects is to minister to the needs of people in the name of Christ and in His love, and to bring people to a saving knowledge of Him. Remember, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matt. 25:40).

- to teach the Bible
- to model faith and practice
- to prepare each lesson well
- to make lessons interesting
- to keep in touch with parents
- to care and protect children
How You Can Help - You can help by
- Consistent and on-time attendance
- Checking with your children what they've learned each week
- Attending parents conference once every three months
- Having a spirit of cooperation and willingness to help when needed .
